Stay close emotionally – have fun
How strange it sounds that we need to stay apart but stay close. Staying apart physically is a no-brainer yet staying close emotionally may well be the other key determining factor in the wellbeing of yourself, your workers and the business…. not to mention the planet.
The social distancing requirements make physical attachment virtually impossible. Yet we all know that staying emotionally close, even closer than ever before, will be the lifeblood of our capacity to conquer covid and emerge stronger, more resilient and more emotionally connected
To do
- Incorporate new ways of being connected while people work at home
- Try fun for size with activities on line and through media such as Zoom, like:
- Mates Monday where you and others recognise those true mates to your business
- Tucker Tuesday where you check out each other’s lunches or recipes
- Whats Up Wednesday where you update on any news, personal or business related. Or maybe Wine and Drinks Wednesday
- Thankyou Thursday where you recognise acts of kindness
- Friday Fun Day with whatever takes your fancy – jokes, Karaoke, fancy dress, art or whatever
- Invent new fun things to do within your workplace and community – one neighbourhood is looking at simple putting fairly lights in their front garden as a way of demonstrating solidarity and mindfulness while conquering covid
- Check in on each other personally at home and at work
- Be hopeful and optimistic about the future
- Be physically healthy
- Take pleasure in life in this strange environment
- Make good meaning out of events and interactions with others
